First Responder Recognition: FINAL WINNER!
And the final winner of First Responder Recognition is CNA, Maria! She is picking up a restaurant gift card courtesy of Bismarck Heating & Air, as well as gift cards to Peacock Alley and 40 Steak & Seafood.
When the pandemic overtook us, Bismarck Townsquare stations wanted to honor our community heroes. So, for the past few months, we have been featuring these heroes with First Responder Recogniton. All types of community heroes were featured - EMTs, firefighters, nurses, police officers, and more. Now, it's time to pick our monthly winner for the final week of First Responder Recognition.
Our final winner for First Responder Recognition is CNA, Maria. It's never easy picking just one hero to win, but Maria's story particularly stood out when it came to choosing. She is not only a CNA who loves helping her patients in every way, but she is also powering through her own health battle. Read Maria's incredible story below.
Original Story: This week for First Responder Recognition, we are shining the spotlight on Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Maria. The person who nominated Maria says she's truly amazing and a gift to the world. She cares about everyone she takes care of - and she shows it. The CNA develops a bond with her patients, which is so important for keeping them positive while being cared for.
Maria is not just strong for those she is helping, she is also bravely fighting She has been battling thyroid cancer and other health ordeals. She doesn't let her health defeat her, she's "up and swinging" everyday. She fights this all while maintaining a smile on her face.
Maria's story is inspiring because she's got personal medical battles, but they aren't keeping her from caring for others who are also sick. She's someone with a lot on her plate, but keeps her head up and maintains a positive attitude, all while helping people. Selfless, indeed.
Again, we here at Townsquare Media, we are thankful for our community heroes that work to keep us safe and healthy. Don't forget to say "thank you" to the heroes in your community.
