Grant County Deputy Suffers Unusual Vacation Accident

Proof that terrible things sometimes happen to the greatest people: Grant County Deputy Jeff Edwards experienced paralyzing neck and spinal cord injuries while on vacation in Mexico recently.

Deputy Edward was airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital after, according to Inforum.com, a large wave threw him to the ocean floor."

Grant survived and was able to breath, but has lost all mobility from the chest down. He is beginning his recovery with the positive attitude that has made him so beloved in his west central Minnesota home where he works.

Grant is also an  Army veteran, volunteer firefighter and family man.

The deputy underwent surgery, and may recover some or all of his mobility, but it is unknown at this time how much.
