North Dakota Hair Cuts Are Now Way Cheaper Than You Think
Getting your hair done in 2025 is pretty expensive. Just taking care of your hair at home ends up costing a lot. If you're like me, and have a slight haircare addiction, you're probably buying shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, serums, heat sprays, shine sprays, hot tools, and so on.
(Yes, I really do use all of these products in my hair every day)
It adds up, and I hate to admit, mostly because my boyfriend will probably read this and be appalled by my spending. Consider all of that, but let's not forget to throw in actual salon visits, which, with color or highlights, cost a couple of hundred dollars each time.
If you cringe at your bank account after making all of these purchasing all these things, consider this.
North Dakota Hair Care Costs
WalletHub did a study to find out which states are spending the most money on haircuts. They looked at the cost of beauty as a share of monthly household income, and trust me, you're going to be glad you live in North Dakota after hearing where we rank nationally.
Before we get to that, let's take a look at the states where residents are paying the most for their haircuts relative to what they earn.

You might be surprised by this, but Arkansas ranks as the highest. The cost of a man's barbershop haircut, and a woman's shampoo, trim, and blow-dry averages at about $80.37.
Arkansas is followed by Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Michigan.
As for North Dakota, we rank at number 41 out of all the other states, which is pretty great, isn't it? The state where it's most affordable to get your hair done is New Jersey. In New Jersey, the source says haircut services only come out to be .75 percent of your income.
