Hotline Set up For Farmers Impacted by Dakota Access Pipeline
A hotline has been set up to help farmers who have been impacted by protests of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
In a press release issued Wednesday, the Department of Agriculture said that farmers trying to finish their work before the winter season have experienced issues due to local truckers to drive through the area.
The trucks carry supplies like livestock, grain and hay. Road blocks in place by the National Guard have made it a hassle to drive through the area.
Department of Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has set up a hotline that farmers who need assistance can call. The number is 425-8454. Calls will be answered weekdays between 8am and 5pm and callers can leave a message at night and on weekends.
The service is free for farmers. For more information, you can check out the North Dakota Department of Agriculture website.
