Justin Timberlake Says He Only Kinda Sorta Called Britney Spears a Bitch

Contrary to what some reports would have us believe, Justin Timberlake did not call his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears a "bitch" during his Pre-Super Bowl concert on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Before performing his break-up anthem 'Cry Me a River,' Justin told the audience, "Sometimes in life, you think you found the one, but then one day you find out that she is just some bitch."

Since pretty much everyone knows that ditty was written in the wake of his split from Spears (who was, allegedly, cheating on him), the general assumption was the aforementioned bitch was in fact BritBrit -- and all internet-related hell broke loose.

Sensing trouble, Justin tweeted an explanation before fans could arm themselves with pitchforks and torches or create any “Leave Britney Alone!” videos in protest.

Kind of a weird denial. We're guessing when JT hears Spears purr the words “it's Britney, bitch” to open her song 'Gimme More,' what he really hears is “that Britney, she's a bitch.”
