North Dakota Counties With The Highest Cancer Rates

Our North Dakota cities are known for many things: beautiful fields, casinos, incredible people, etc. Sadly, some North Dakota cities are known for something pretty concerning: high cancer rates.

Every North Dakotan has been affected by cancer either themselves, or through friends or family members.

To get a better idea of which areas have the highest cancer rates in North Dakota, I went to the National Cancer Institute's website.

Let's take a look at which counties the source says have the highest overall cancer (all types) rates.

The source goes on to list several more counties that are hotspots for cancer.

Stutsman

Richland

McLean

Ramsey

This might shock you, but the source also goes on to say that 4,023 people on average are diagnosed with cancer in North Dakota every year. That's devastating to hear, but the good news is that statewide cancer rates overall seem to be dropping.

While I sit here giving you all these rates and statistics, I know that these represent real North Dakotans. Real people are fighting this terrible disease, and our hearts go out to all individuals and families affected by cancer.

We pray that someday soon we find a cure.
