Madonna to Perform Prince Tribute at 2016 Billboard Music Awards
The theme of the 2016 Billboard Music Awards is royalty. So the Queen of Pop Madonna is set to honor our beloved musician Prince, who passed away on April 21 at the age of 57.
Madonna's performance is being described as the highlight of the BMAs, which is taking place in Las Vegas on May 22. Details remain a mystery but given Madge's close relationship with Prince we can only expect greatness.
The announcement comes after Madonna, like many superstars took to social media to grieve for the fallen guitarist. The 57-year-old pop vet was particularly "devastated" by the lost.
"Its been 7 hours and 13 days since you took your love away……….all the flowers you planted died when you went away……….Nothing Compares 2 U," wrote the Rebel Heart creator on her Instagram account.
In addition to Madonna's highly anticipated Prince tribute the night will also be filled with performances from Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, DNCE, Fifth Harmony, The Go-Go’s, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Pink, Britney Spears, Nick Jonas and Troye Sivan.
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas on May 22 at 8PM ET on ABC.
