It's not ever day you see something like this happen in Bismarck-Mandan. According to an even post on Facebook, an "International Festival" is set to take place tomorrow (Saturday, June 27th) in the heart of Mandan, at Dykshoorn Park, hosted by Global Neighbors ND.

If you're not familiar with Global Neighbors, North Dakota, it's a wonderful nonprofit that helps refugees and immigrants from all over the world successfully integrate into North American, and North Dakotan culture. I've had the pleasure of working with some of these individuals in the past, and learned that they help newcomers with everything from finding housing and furniture, to teaching them English, and of course, preparing them for the oftentimes brutal North Dakota winters.

International Fest is a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures that make North Dakota home! From energetic performances to global flavors, this festival is a chance to learn, connect, and celebrate with our incredible community.

If you're wondering what kind of things will happen at the festival, allow me to paint a very fun picture.

The Facebook event page explains that they will offer authentic global cuisine, interactive cultural exhibits, bounce houses, and art activities for the family inside the Morton Mandan Public Library.
Not only that, but there will also be live performances from around the world. Here's the performance schedule:
10:00 AM: Andres Ruiz-Olaya and Angelica Ortegon - Latin American Singers
12:30 PM: Northern Plains Dance
1:00 PM: Dymtro Somkin & Ksenia Somkina - Ukrainian Singers
1:30 PM: YMCA Middle Eastern Dancers
2:00 PM: Polynisian Dancers
Now let's circle back to the food options. There will be several food trucks on site like, Aides Kitchen (Latin American), Auntie Jades (Filipino), Das Mountain (German), Moshi Taiyaki (Japanese), India Clay Oven (Indian), and FOMO 10/40 (Global Missions).
Something else to keep in mind is that we will be there broadcasting live from the event from 11 to 2pm. Stop out, win prizes, and experience the world right here in North Dakota. The event starts at 10am tomorrow and wraps up around 4pm.
