Manscrimination: Man Charged $400 For Taking Wife’s Last Name

Traditionally women take men's last name in marriage however Lazaro Sopena of Florida wanted to take on his wife's last name of Dinh. A DMV name change for newly married woment is only $20, for Lazaro it was $400 and a court filing.Florida stated the marriage name charge fee only applys to women. In ND we are a gender neutral state so if your man takes your last name he will not incur such a penalty!
