Summit League head coaches, sports information directors, and media members have picked the North Dakota State Bison men's basketball team to finish third in the league this season.

According to GoBison.com, the Summit League preseason poll was released on Wednesday, October 3rd, with Fort Wayne situated at the top.

Fort Wayne received 18 first place votes to help them secure the top spot with 491 points. South Dakota State was second with 424 points, including nine first place votes. The Bison were third with 422 points, including four first place votes.

Two Bison players were also honored by the Summit League head coaches, sports information directors, and media members. Junior guard Paul Miller was named to the All-Summit League first team. Senior forward Dexter Werner, who's originally from Bismarck, was named to the second team.

The Bison made it all the way to the Summit League championship game last season, where they lost to South Dakota State in Sioux Falls. The Bison's last Summit League championship was during the 2014-15 season.

Regular season basketball for the Bison kicks off Friday, November 11th, in Fargo.
