Nevada Considering Allowing Medical Marijuana Use for Pets
A new Senate bill in Nevada proposes legalizing medical marijuana use for ailing pets in the state.
SB372 contains the proposal, called the "pot-for-pets" provision. It would make medical marijuana available to pet owners for their pets, provided that the treating veterinarian deems it potentially helpful.
The measure is sponsored by Sen. Tick Segerblom (D-Nevada), who expresses concerns about adverse reactions, but thinks the method is worth a try.
The proposal is drawing mixed reactions from lawmakers and veterinary professionals alike.
