North Dakota: Another Major Chain Closing 1000 Stores This Year
The announcement was made earlier today, that after years of mismanagement and poor conditions in stores, the brand has been damaged.
Recently, according to CNN, Family Dollar was fined more than 40 million dollars for a rat infestation at its warehouse. This caused several of the stores across the country to temporarily close. Suffice to say, this had an impact on the company.
The chain is struggling to make profits going up against competitors like Dollar General, and Walmart, especially when you factor in inflation, according to the source.

What does this mean for North Dakota Dollar Trees and Family Dollars?
Family Dollar, according to the source, will close 600 locations this year and 370 more over the next several years as leases expire. Dollar Tree will close 30 stores
Currently, Family Dollar, who also owns Dollar Tree, has around 8000 US stores dollar tree will close 30 stores as leases expire.
According to WJON, many of these stores will close by July of this year, 2024.
