North Dakota is a Great Place to Have a Baby
If you're expecting, you're in a great place for it.
Our friends at WalletHub have done the research and it turns out that North Dakota is the 5th best state in the U.S. to have a baby. It's no secret that the main factors that anyone expecting will have to deal with are financial costs and the health care they'll receive when the time comes.
In a further breakdown of those factors, North Dakota ranked near the top of the list finishing 1st in lowest hospital-conventional delivery charges, 3rd in lowest hospital cesarean-delivery charges, and 3rd in rate of low-birth rate. They also finished 14th in child-care centers per capita, 25th in family doctors and pediatricians per capita, and 26th in annual average cost of early child care.
Finishing ahead of North Dakota in the overall ranking were Vermont (1st), Minnesota (2nd), New Hampshire (3rd), and Connecticut (4th). The bottom five are Alabama, West Virginia, Nevada, Louisiana, and Mississippi finishing dead last.
Even if you're not sure what to expect while expecting, just know you're in a good state for it, North Dakota.
