North Dakota Proven To Have Terrible Fatality Rates When It Comes To This

This is one of those things I stumbled across and found truly unsettling. A study was done by WalletHub on teen driving fatalities, and you might be surprised to learn that North Dakota is listed as one of the worst states in the country for fatalities.

Did You Know: According to WalletHub, motor-vehicle accidents is the leading cause of death for teens ages 16 - 19. This source also says that the annual cost from medical expenses and work loss for this age group (in relation to motor-vehicle accidents) comes to about 4.8 billion dollars. -- That's "Billion," with a "B."

To come to this conclusion, WalletHub looked at total teen-driving fatalities (YOY), the average cost of car repairs, and what impaired-driving laws exist in the state.

1. Montana

2. Wyoming

3. Missouri

4. South Dakota

5. North Dakota

Both Dakotas made the list, unfortunately. If you're like me you're probably wondering why that is.

And obviously, this is a list we don't want to be on; hopefully we can make some changes and get our teen drivers more safe and comfortable on the road.

4. Maryland

5. Oregon

I'll speculate and say a lot of people don't have cars in the metro areas of New York state, so I'm not too surprised to see it come in at number one.
