Poll Workers Needed!

Not "Pole" workers, "Poll" workers. Get your mind out of the gutter!

I spoke to Erika White, an Election Manager for Burleigh County, she says this is an important role to take on.

"Poll workers are the backbone of our democracy. Successful elections happen when citizens are willing to staff the polls," said White.

Primary Election

The Primary Election is coming up on June 14th and Burleigh County is looking for people to staff the poll sites. Currently they need around 250 people to cover the 18 different sites.

 How Does It Work?

They actually train you on how to be a poll worker prior to election day. That will take place on June 1st. Poll workers are required to help set up the polling location on election day, and they are asked to work the entire day.

You Get Paid!

The average pay for working the election is right around $250. Poll hours are from 7am to 7pm... not a bad deal!

What Are The Requirements?

It's pretty simple, really...

If you want to be an election worker, you have to meet these following requirements:

  1. Be a U.S. citizen
  2. Be at least 16 years of age
  3. Be a resident of Burleigh County

That's it!

LOOK: What 25 Historic Battlefields Look Like Today

The following is an examination of what became of the sites where America waged its most important and often most brutal campaigns of war. Using a variety of sources, Stacker selected 25 historically significant battlefields in American history. For each one, Stacker investigated what happened there when the battles raged as well as what became of those hallowed grounds when the fighting stopped.

These are the battlefields that defined the United States military’s journey from upstart Colonial rebels to an invincible global war machine.
