While the Sears store chain has almost entirely disappeared all across the country, we're seeing some new developments. According to CNN Business, Sears just reopened two stores.

According to KTLA.com, in May of this year (2023) there were only 11 Sears stores still open in the United States. CNN just reported, that despite the company declaring bankruptcy in October of 2018, they are making some moves to stay afloat.

It looks like they aren't going down without a fight.

The source claims that one of the two reopened Sears stores is in Washington state; the other is in Burbank, California.

Is It A Relaunch?

It's hard to say what the company is planning; could they be working to breathe some life back into the company?

According to the source, people who've visited the newly reopened stores say that it doesn't look much different than it did in the early 2000s. This is slightly discouraging.

Will we see more stores pop up in other states? Could North Dakota be one of them?

I have to admit, I love the idea for nostalgic reasons.

Sears In North Dakota?

If I were to guess, I'd say it's highly unlikely that Sears will be making a comeback in North Dakota anytime soon. I'm doubtful it will at all, but I have to appreciate the effort the company has been making to make a comeback.
