The backlash following leaked recordings of actor Stephen Collins admitting to incidents of child molestation continues. E! Online reports that Collins has been cut from upcoming episodes of 'Scandal,' now currently in its fourth season on ABC.

"We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins," a rep for ABC told E! in a statement.

Collins had revealed in a tweet in September that he was set to appear on 'Scandal' this season. "Happy to say I did another episode of #Scandal. Had a gr8 time. Wish I could say more but [exec producer] @ShondaRhimes would have to kill me," he wrote.

He previously appeared as reporter Reed Wallace in a 2012 episode of the series.

Yesterday, it was also revealed that Universal Pictures had fired Collins from 'Ted 2,' the sequel to Seth MacFarlane's 2012 comedy. It is unknown what role Collins would have played.

The former '7th Heaven' actor is currently being investigated by police in response to the leaked recordings obtained by TMZ. Over the course of several years, Collins confessed to multiple incidents of inappropriate contact with three young women during therapy sessions with his wife, Faye Grant.
