Riley Ortega is a 15-year-old with very strong beliefs and he's decided to run 1,400 miles for what he believes in.

Ortega is from Prescott Valley, AZ and has organized a run in support of the nationwide demonstration at the Dakota Access Pipeline site. He has said he wants to help his people with the water issue, as well as raise awareness of what's happening.

The Latoka people are concerned water contamination may occur in the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers, should there be a break in the pipeline.

Ortega's parents will also join him on the 1,400-mile journey. The trek will also cost the high school sophomore a chance at going to sectionals or state in fall competitions.

Riley Ortega will begin his 1,400-mile run on October 28.
