When I did my research before moving out here... there were 3 things I thought I would miss.

First was a Teriyaki joint. I would get Teriyaki for lunch once to twice a week in Seattle. 2nd was a Pho joint. Nothing felt better than getting Pho to cure a cold, or just to warm up on a cold day. 3rd was a Beer store that specialized in hard to find micro brews.

While I do enjoy a nice Bud Light during the game, I'm a fan of IPA's and dark ales and lagers. My first month here, I had a hard time finding unique beers. (H/T to Laughing Sun, who's my new favorite local brew spot)

Then today, while I was grabbing some cider at the liquor store, I cruised by their specialty beer selection. Previously, I hadn't really liked any of the selection they had.. but today...

The picture is of what I purchased today. It is the Deschutes Brewery The Abyss 2013 reserve. I have friends in Seattle that are having an IMPOSSIBLE time finding just one bottle, and I found 3! In fact... this is the first year I've been able to find more than one bottle EVER. Some years, I can't even find that.

Every passing day, I fall a little more in love with my new hometown.
