WATCH A Devils Lake North Dakota Fish Story That’s Actually True
We all have either told or been told a fish tale before. Most are an exaggeration of the truth. That's what all fishermen do right? They lie. Most of the time it involves some additional inches added on to the true size. Sounds familiar right ladies?
Well, I ran across a post from a friend of mine on Facebook this weekend showing a video you have to see to believe. This happened on one of the best walleye lakes in the state, Devils Lake. Jamie Risovi, from New Rockford, North Dakota ironically loves to fish for big Northern Pike. He's caught a lot of them over the years. On this day, he was actually fishing for Walleyes, and a Northern Pike nearly stole his dinner. Here's the AMAZING video you have to see to believe.
As I said, you have to see it to believe it. Thinking back I've had a Northern Pike chase a Walleye that I've reeled in before, but it's never grabbed it and hung on like in this video. It goes to show, that it's always good to be at the top of the food chain in the fish world, and a Northern Pike would be it for most of our waters in North Dakota.
I've also heard fish tales where people have caught fish with another fairly large fish stuck in its throat. One thing that I absolutely love? You never know what's going to happen when you head out on a fishing excursion. I guess that's what makes fishing so much fun. In North Dakota, we have so many opportunities to experience the great outdoors. Enjoy, and tight lines everybody.
