What is Being Done to Remove All the Ice Around Bismarck-Mandan?
The Bismarck-Mandan area is pretty much covered in a sheet of glass.
I would like to think that I am not a nervous winter driver. But holy moly has it been sketchy driving around Bismarck-Mandan the past few weeks. Like, the whole place has turned into a skating rink - sidewalks, highways, parking lots and all. What is the deal with every outdoor surface in the area being left frozen and slippery?
Even the recent warmer temperatures are not enough to melt the snow.
While we are having a little heatwave to break the recent deadly, sub-zero temperatures, it is still hella icy out there! And we have a lot of bridges, cloverleaf exits, and steep hills to deal with in Bismarck-Mandan. You do not even have to be a terrible driver to be at risk of getting into or causing an accident.
What is being done to de-ice Bismarck-Mandan?
Honestly, I have not seen any trucks throwing down salt or anything since around the time of our major snowstorm over Christmas weekend. And, while my apartment complex has been good at keeping sidewalks salted, it is still scary to make a trip across the parking lot to the garbage or garage. The snow is packed, solid, and glossed over at my residence.
Getting around Bismarck, whether by foot or vehicle, is seriously nerve-wracking these days. If it is going to be so slippery all winter, I am sure we are going to see a lot more weather-related crashes. I guess I will have to learn to leave 15-minutes earlier to everywhere so I can take my sweet time on these chaotic streets.
How do you feel about the current condition of the roads, sidewalks, etc. in Bismarck-Mandan?
