Every spring and summer, we look forward to getting rid of the clutter and getting our homes nice and clean. The City of Mandan just announced that Spring clean-up week is coming and will be here sooner than you might think.

Clean-Up Week

In Mandan, spring Clean-Up week will be April 21st through 26th. Start getting your old furniture and appliances ready; you don't want to miss the opportunity to get out all the old and get in with the new.

According to the City of Mandan, during this week, residents will be allowed to place bulky items for special waste collection pick-up at their boulevard curb. Keep in mind that items picked up cannot be mixed in with normal household garbage.

You will need to have your items on the boulevard by 5 am on collection days, and no more than 24 hours in advance of collection week.

If you wish to get rid of old garbage cans, crates, or boxes, they must be marked as trash, otherwise, they will be left behind.

Things to consider when leaving appliances: Crews will only pick up items that can be lifted by two people. The appliances must also be cleared of food and other items.

Other Things To Consider

Crews will not be entering alleys, apartment complexes, private streets or property. People living in apartment complexes will need to leave items along the curb of city maintained streets. If you live in a mobile home park, contact management for clean-up details.

Items That Will NOT Be Picked UP

According to the City of Mandan website, there are several things clean-up crews will not pick up.

  • Deer Hides
  • Oil
  • Carpet
  • Sod, Rocks, Dirt, Sawdust
  • Batteries
  • Liquids (including paint)
  • Hazardous Waste (pesticides, cleaning supplies, paints, oils, etc.)
  • Grass, Leaves or Lawn Clippings (must be taken to grass collection sites)
  • Branches, Twigs, or Christmas Trees
  • Excessive Amounts of Cardboard

Above above-listed items can be taken by residents to the city landfill, which is located 3 miles west of Mandan.
