One of the coolest breweries in Bismarck Mandan will be closing it's doors.  According to it's facebook page, Bird Dog Brewing is closing at the end of the month.  The popular Bismarck brewery will lock up shop for good on October 30th.

The message on their facebook page said, " The COVID-19 crisis is no time for a start up brewery.  We want to thank all of our customers for their support, and encourage everyone to support local breweries during this difficult time!"  They also encouraged customers to come in and enjoy a beer while it lasts.

Bird Dog Brewing is located is located at 931 South 9th Street #3 in Bismarck.  It's open Wednesday through Saturday.  Hours are 4 pm to 12 midnight on Wednesday and Thursday.  Friday and Saturday they're open from 2 pm to 12 midnight.  These hours may vary as it appears their website is no longer operating.

I got to know the owner a little bit when I interviewed him on the radio this past year.  As a beer loving male, I had to try this place out.  I loved the atmosphere, and the brewery did not disappoint.  This was one of those places, that was uniquely Bismarck.

The owner is a big pheasant hunter like myself, and of course he named his business after the sport he loves.  It's kind of ironic, that the pheasant opener is this weekend, and Bird Dog Brewing announces it's closing it's doors.  Always sad, when a local small business closes it's doors.  I'm going to miss it.  Bird Dog Brewing was truly unique, and will be missed.
