The Priests and Bishops must have thought they had it all going on when Joe Biden was elected AS ONLY THE SECOND CATHOLIC PRESIDENT IN US HISTORY...seems they were mistaken.  But just when Biden thought he was on a roll- just out writing checks and visiting world leaders, a Catholic related cabal has arose...

before you get nuts about the use of that word...Wikipedia defines cabal as such-

A cabal is a group of people who are united in some close design, usually to promote their private views or interests in an ideology, a state, or another community, often by intrigue and usually unbeknownst to those who are outside their group.

I don't get into religious wranglings, and I surely don't get into religious wranglings involving abortion rights.  It ain't Thanksgiving uncle arguing here...I'll keep that conversation to myself.

But, your North Dakota Catholic Bishops find themselves chiming in on the issue of whether or not our current Catholic president has been a little too pro-abortion in his national stance.

Did I mention, I didn't want to talk about this?

But, since the Diocese of Bismarck's very own Bishop David Kagan voted to "rebuke" the president..

“When asked whether he voted in support of the measure, Diocese of Fargo Bishop John Folda released a statement.  I am pleased that the bishops conference voted to prepare a new teaching document on the Eucharist, which is at the heart of our lives as Catholics.  This document will hopefully deepen our understanding of the Eucharist and help us live our faith more consistently in the world.”

Fargo Diocese spokesman Paul Braun said Folda did not disclose how he actually voted.

Diocese of Bismarck Bishop David Kagan voted in support of the document, according to spokesperson Sonia Mullally.

Bishop John said he was pleased, but wouldn't fess up to how pleased he was...good for Bishop Kagan in at least backing up his opinion.

The "teaching document” that many bishops hope will rebuke Catholic leaders, including President Biden, for receiving Communion while supporting abortion rights.

Last week, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops voted 168-55 in favor of the document.

So is the leader of the free world and leader of the greatest country on earth, beholden to his childhood religious teachings? Why haven't there been more Catholic presidents? Why can't religion stay outta politics?

Because of course, religion is a moral thread that runs through much of humankind.  Problem is, that religious moral thread is viewed so completely different for us all.

Do you feel Biden was elected in part for his Catholic ideals?  Should varying President's religions play a part in framing policy?

Hell no I say...what say you?
