As Bismarck Schools student population increases, with an expected 300 plus new students in the district junior high and high school boundaries are changing. Starting in fall of 2013, 6th graders will become part of the junior highs and 9th graders will become part of the high schools.

From the Bismarck Public Schools board meeting the decision was made with this response "With up to 30 portables needed and little room to put them on elementary school sites, the Board voted to move 6th graders to create elementary space. At the high school level, Bismarck High and Century may get some portables. Administrators are also exploring a way to provide space at the Career Academy and/or the Hughes building for students who will eventually go to the new high school."

A Boundary Group composed of 60 people is finalizing the details of the student transition and their progress can be followed here.

Public Meetings to review the school boundary changes will happen on January 10th at Wachter Middle School from 6:30pm-8pm and Thursday January 24th at Horizon from 6:30pm-8pm.
