We hate to hear of any business closing in North Dakota, especially ones that have been around for decades.

The sad news broke earlier today. Minot's legendary Burger Time restaurant is closing its doors after more than twenty years in business.

According to KFYR TV, the restaurant has signs up on the windows and drive-thru, saying it has closed permanently. There is even a voicemail thanking customers for more than twenty years of business.

Burger Time has a unique style and charm; many of the locations don't have indoor seating, instead, they have drive-thrus on both sides of the building. It's a bit retro.

Seeing that this Minot location has closed, it's left many of us asking a question: What does this mean, if anything, for the Bismarck location?

Will Bismarck also lose its Burger Time restaurant? What about Fargo?

According to BismackCafe.com, Burger Time is a regional chain that originated out of Moorhead and St. Cloud in 1987. The restaurant proved to be a success and continued expanding throughout the area. In 2024, there were a total of eight Burger Time locations; now there are six total across 3 states.

Here are the remaining open restaurants:

Bismarck, ND

Fargo, ND

Grand Forks, ND

Sioux Falls, SD

Moorhead, MN

Waite Park, MN

We hope Bismarck and the other locations remain open in the coming months/years. We will keep you posted with any updates on that.
