Five NBA Players Who Suited up for the Dakota Wizards

Small forward DeMarre Caroll was drafted out of Missouri by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2009. He spent much of his rookie season coming off the bench for the Grizzlies, but they ended up assigning him to the Wizards the following season.

In 2011, Caroll and fellow Wizard Hasheem Thabeet were sent to the Houston Rockets. The Rockets waived Caroll a few months later.

Caroll ended up bouncing around the league a bit before landing with the Atlanta Hawks. He spent two years in Atlanta, before signing a four-year, $60 million contract with the Toronto Raptors before the 2015-16 season.

Known for being the only player to ever record a quadruple-double in NCAA Division I men's basketball history, Lester Hudson was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2009.

Hudson's time in Boston was short-lived, however, and the Celtics waived him in 2010. The Memphis Grizzlies quickly signed Hudson and assigned him to the Dakota Wizards.

Hudson last spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers, playing in five games for the team last season.

In 2010, the Dakota Wizards selected Chris Johnson with the ninth overall pick in the NBA D-League Draft.

After being drafted by the Wizards, Johnson was signed by the Portland Trailblazers, though he would end up returning to Bismarck. He would then sign a deal with the Boston Celtics, only to, once again, return to the Dakota Wizards.

Johnson played in 71 games during his career, averaging just under three points per game.

Oliver 'The Big O' Miller had quite the basketball journey over the years, playing for NBA teams like the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons, while also spending time overseas and with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Miller had two different stints with the Dakota Wizards, spending time with the team in both 2003 and 2004.

In 2011, Miller pled guilty to first degree assault and possessing a handgun. He was sentenced to one year in jail, according to Wikipedia.

Center Hasheem Thabeet was the second overall pick by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2009 NBA Draft, though he never lived up to his full potential.

Thabeet was assigned to the Dakota Wizards in 2010, making him the highest drafted player to be sent to the NBA's D-League.

Thabeet was traded to the Rockets, along with DeMarre Carroll, in 2011. After spending time with the Rockets, Thabeet was traded to the Portland Trailblazers. He also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder for two seasons.

Thabeet's spent the summer of 2015 in the NBA Summer League.
