Do you count yourself among the fortunate individuals who were presented with a ring and a proposal for the new year? Have you been married for twenty years at this point? Twenty-five years? To a greater extent?  To what extent is your marriage fulfilling? A new rating has determined the states that are at the top of the list for states in which divorce is the last thing on the minds of couples. Through an analysis of more than 300 thousand searches about divorce, the study was able to determine which individuals were the most and least willing to separate from their partners.

North Dakota residents appear the fifth happiest out of all the states in their marital relationships, searching about divorce 42% less than than the typical American couple The research, pulled together by Schmidt & Clark, analyzed nationwide and regional Google search volume for keywords related to divorce and divorce lawyers over the last 12 months in the US, to identify which states are looking to separate officially and which are still enjoying married life.

Partners in North Dakota appear to be matched well compared to the typical American marriage, as the state averaged 59 searches per 100k people in the past year, which is 42% below the national average of 101.

Alaska couples, however, seem to be the best off, ranking first with only 52 searches per 100k - almost half (49% below) the US average.

Happy Couple

Following Alaska as the second most happy is South Dakota, with couples in The Last Frontier thinking about splitting up 47% less than the national average, with only 54 searches per 100k.

In third is Hawaii with 56 searches per 100k – which is still 45% below the national average. That seems odd to me...simply because those lovebirds live in Hawaii! It makes sense that Alaska is first considering it's cold up there 90% of the time!
