Friday is National Donut Day

I'm more of a caramel roll guy, but a good donut is pretty hard to beat. My favorite will always be the maple frosted donut. Those delicious morsels of goodness will always take me back to my childhood and our family hunting trips. My father would always stop and pick out a dozen donuts at our local donut shop, and I would make sure there would be at least one with maple frosting.

I've always been a fan of maple anything. I used to put maple syrup on ice cream (a little weird to some), and of course, French toast, waffles, and pancakes. While most kids growing up loved chocolate, I was more of a maple, butterscotch, cinnamon, and caramel treats.
