North Dakota Morgan Wallen Fans React To WE Fest Performance
Morgan Wallen "busts" WE Fest attendance records.
I just got back from Soo Pass Ranch near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota for WE Fests 40th annual country music festival. Long lines and wait times to get into campgrounds and the festival itself may have disappointed some concertgoers, but most of our listeners who I spoke to took it all in stride. After all, there's a reason for the madness. Morgan Wallen.
Final numbers have not been released yet, but it's believed that over 40,000 people saw Morgan Wallen perform Thursday, August 3rd at WE Fest.
There was also a big influx of people from the Bismarck Mandan area who attended WE Fest and most were there to see just about the biggest name in country music right now, Morgan Wallen.
US 103-3 gave away hundreds of FREE tickets to this year's WE Fest.
It was nice to see so many of our listeners who stopped by to see our live broadcast during WE Fest. Not only did we meet people from the Bismarck, Mandan, and Lincoln areas, but we talked to Morgan Wallen fans from Wing, Steele, Hazelton, Wilton, Tappen, New Salem, and many other North Dakota cities.
We weren't the only people giving away free tickets to WE Fest.
It was reported by the Echo Press, that because so many Morgan Wallen fans were in line right before showtime to buy single tickets just for Morgan Wallen, General Manager Mark Bjerke decided to let those people in line into the show for free. He didn't want them waiting in line and missing the show. I can verify that these lines were not moving because of so many people. His thought was, he didn't want to ruin anyone's experience who had driven from several hours away and miss any part of Morgan Wallen.
Morgan Wallen took the stage at 10:30 pm Thursday night and played right up until midnight in front of a record crowd.
This was a high-energy show with lots of stage presence, an awesome backup band, and a tremendous light and laser show with pyrotechnics. He played all of his record-breaking chart hits.
The one word that summed up the concert from most of the people I spoke to was "Epic". Others called it a "Can't-miss performance", and "So worth all the trouble getting in" others said. One group of college girls told me "This was the best concert they had ever been to."
One thing is for sure, people who experienced Morgan Wallen at WE Fest won't be forgetting this moment anytime soon.
I know I won't, and all of us at US 103-3 are so glad we could help get you there on us. Enjoy some of our videos and photos below.
