It's no secret; artificial intelligence is slowly taking over. It might be scary to think how the advancement of AI might impact your job or role at a given company, but you can't deny, AI is making our lives easier with each passing day.

Prepared for AI?

Every job, every industry, is trying to find new ways to use AI. Companies all across the country are implementing it more and more. As it advances, we have to adapt, not just as individuals, but more broadly, as a society.

Many are asking the question: How prepared is the state of North Dakota for artificial intelligence in the workplace?

To get a better picture of how each state will be impacted and prepared, a study was done by Brainly, looking at U.S. Labor Data. It found that 2.2 million Americans are now in AI-intensive roles. These roles are expected to grow by 19 percent by 2033. Software development, finance, and the healthcare field will all see an increased demand.

According to the source, North Dakota ranks at number 33 in preparedness. Here are a few of the metrics they looked at to make this determination:

AI jobs per 1k workers (Adoption): 6

High school students in computer science class (Education): 5%

AI-related degrees, per 10k people ages 20-24 (Workplace development): 62

Federal funding for tech innovation in small businesses (Funding): $3 per $1M GDP

Homes with fast internet (Infrastructure): 90%

States that are Most and Least Prepared

The source says that Alaska, Louisiana, and West Virginia are among the least prepared states when it comes to AI in the workplace.

The most prepared states are Washington D.C., New Hampshire, Utah, Maryland, and Massachusetts.
