A Ring, a Star, and a North Dakota Stage: The Proposal Everyone’s Talking About

Meet Brittney Mosbrucker and Riley Ellingson--quite possibly North Dakota's biggest Neal McCoy fans.

They've gone to see this country music star multiple times. Here's a picture of them at last year's ND Country Fest.

How cute do they look?!

Mosbrucker says she's been a Neal McCoy fan since she was a little girl.

"I’ve gone to his concerts every time I’ve gotten the chance since I was 8 years old."

A Country Music Love Story

Like many North Dakota couples, Mosbrucker and Ellingson decided to get out of the house and attend the Neal McCoy concert at last weekend. Seeing him live brings back great memories for the couple.

"During our first year together, one of our first concerts was Neal McCoy at Country Fest," said Mosbrucker.

This year they decided to take the experience to the next level --they had to meet Neal McCoy in person.

"When I found out there were meet and greets available, I said to Riley, 'We HAVE to do it!' And he agreed. Little did I know he had it set up with ND Country Fest to meet Neal," said Mosbrucker.

Mosbrucker was beyond excited for the concert.

"When we got the tickets, I said 'this is the best day of my life,'" said Mosbrucker.

During the meet-and-greet, the couple took photos with country music legend Neal McCoy and had a nice visit with him.

Mosbrucker says that as they were about to leave, something unexpected happened.

Her then-boyfriend, Riley, got down on one knee with Neal McCoy there to witness it all. She shared with me his proposal:

Riley said, “You already said this was the best day of your life, but maybe I can make it a little better."

He then pulled a ring out of his pocket.

"I was absolutely shocked. I got to meet my favorite childhood celebrity, and get engaged to my very best friend-- all in one night. The only day that will top it will be the day I get to marry him," said Mosbrucker.

Neal McCoy was the opening act for this couple's life-changing moment.

I think it's safe to say that this particular show is one they will never forget.
