North Dakota Population Reaches Record High This Year
North Dakota has reached a new record high population in 2018. This comes after a decline in population the previous year.
According to the Census Bureau, new data shows that North Dakota's population increased to 760,077 in 2018, which is an increase of 4,901 from the previous year's state population of 755,393. That number had been a slight decrease from a population of 755,548 in 2016.
Governor Doug Burgum noted that the population increase is a good sign for the North Dakota's economy:
We’re excited to see more people moving into North Dakota, and for good reason..We’re excited to see more people moving into North Dakota, and for good reason.
Since 2010, the North Dakota's population has increased each year except for the slight decline in 2017.
According to the Grand Forks Herald, North Dakota's census manager said the recent estimated increase in the state's population was due to the migration of job seekers resuming, a high number of births and the number of deaths hasn't increased as much as was anticipated.
If the holidays weren't reasons enough to celebrate, then here's to having more people around to party with. Cheers!
