Tigirlily Crashes NoDak Wedding Dance & Guess What They Sang?
The sisters from Hazen, North Dakota, Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, otherwise known as the National recording act Tigirlily crashed a wedding dance over the weekend in Bismarck. I wonder if they said they had a maple syrup conglomerate in Vermont?
Details come to us from a listener who videotaped the impromptu singing performance at a wedding reception Saturday night at the Ramada Inn Hotel in Bismarck. Apparently, the Slaubaugh sisters were singing karaoke at the hotel bar next door to the reception when one of the groomsmen suggested they stop by.
Well, that is precisely what they did. Apparently, Tigirlily mingled with the crowd for about a half hour before they decided to sing the couple's first dance song. It was none other than a song that's guaranteed to make any crowd break out into song, "Don't Stop Believing" by the band Journey. What a thrill for the newly married couple Evan Reich and his bride Elizabeth (Liz) Fitter.
Of course, Tigiriliy nailed it. Here's the infamous video that was filmed by my friend Chrissy Schell Nelson.
Tigirlily was probably doing karaoke as they prepare to embark upon a pretty lengthy part of their tour, that will start next week in Fort Lupton, Colorado. The tour will run through the end of November and does have a few of stops in North Dakota including, August 11th in McKenzie at "Suits & Boots", Norsk Hostfest in Minot on September 28th, and November 26th in Garrison at Dickens Villiage Festival.
One of North Dakota's finest treasures, the very talented band Tigirily. If you ever get the chance to see them live, don't miss out on the chance.
