What Bismarck/Mandan Events Are Back In 2021?
The Mandan Rodeo and Fourth of July Parade go back to 1881. WELCOME BACK!
What events are back? I think it's easier to list the events that ARE NOT coming back until 2022.
Basically the Norsk Hostfest in Minot and the Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Weezer concert in Minneapolis.
I can do without the lutefisk, but I was really looking forward to going to Green Day with my daughter and my Brenda. Oh well, at least I have...
BUGGIES AND BLUES!
My first Buggies and Blues experience was the horrific hailstorm of June 2001. I had just moved the family to Mandan and we were watching all those classic cars scrambling for shelter. We should scramble a bit better ourselves, as our windshield was shattered in the storm. I'm very pleased to see the return of B&B June 12th and 13th in Mandan. If you've never been- for shame! It's free and you can generally park pretty close. If Sunday's a pleasant day, it's just a great way to meet up with folks you haven't seen in a while.
MANDAN RODEO AND 4TH OF JULY PARADE!
Going back to 2001, who knew there were so many flags in Mandan! Goodness sakes that town gets pretty darn red, white, and blue! Also really grey and smokey after a week of fireworks. They've cut down on the days and hours you can now detonate them. Probably a pretty good idea. The parade is Sunday July 4th, I recommend taking the shuttle bus, makes the whole thing more enjoyable. The venerable Mandan Rodeo is July 2-4.
UTTC INTERNATIONAL POWWOW
Returning on the Weekend of September 10-12. Unfortunately the Tribal Leaders Summit will once again be cancelled. But the culture and pageantry present on the United Tribes Technical College campus is an incredible experience.
That's but a few...please add ones I have missed, and we will all look forward to celebrating their return together!
(together-ish, I mean let's not get crazy)
