Tuesday, energy industry experts and lawmakers met in Bismarck for the Annual Great Plains Energy Conference as they discussed the future of the state’s energy industry.

Wind production has been a key for the state over the past decade and more wind farms are already under construction in the state. North Dakota has already produced more than 2,100 megawatts in wind energy, which only continues to grow the state's renewable energy production.

Potentially, limitations that could have an effect on the wind energy output are federal regulations. A consistent federal energy policy is needed so this won't be a cause for concern.

Regardless, North Dakota continues to be ranked as the top energy producer in the country. The addition of more wind farms can only help.
