Thanks to an unlikely heatwave, Bismarck set a new record high temperature on Thursday (Sept. 25th).

According to The Bismarck Tribune, Bismarck's high of 93 broke the old record set all the way back in 1902 by one degree.

Bismarck wasn't the only North Dakota city to set a record high, though. Williston hit 97 today, breaking the former record by 12 degrees, which was set back in 2011.

Dickinson also set a new high, after hitting 91 degrees. The former record was 89 degrees in 1990.

Last on the list is Minot, which tied its record high of 93, which was set 31 years ago.

Temperatures on Friday (Sept. 26th) expect to hover around the 90 degree mark across the state, so we may see more records fall.
