North Dakota Gets Spotlight On ‘Collide’ Podcast
While flipping through my social media feed, I came across this video that stopped me dead in my tracks. You see, even though I've lived here for roughly 7 years, I don't often see content specifically about North Dakota, so this surprised me.
A man named David Valerio appeared on the Collide podcast, discussing why North Dakota is so great. He said, "North Dakota is a well-run state."
He went on to talk about other things he noticed were great here, and I have to agree with him. While North Dakota is notorious for brutally cold temperatures, high winds, and a decent amount of snow, there are some pretty awesome things.
When I moved here, I pointed out to one of my colleagues that the roads are so nice here. The person looked at me like I was crazy. No, no, no. Coming from a state where the road conditions are ranked as number 15 on the worst in the nation (Illinois), North Dakota roads are pretty impressive. - By the way, North Dakota is ranked as the 5th best in the nation.
We're Hiring
Valerio also said that North Dakota has an abundance of job opportunities. This is true. We don't have a large population, and we don't have many people moving here either. The state, though, is thriving largely because of the oil and gas industry. With that, our communities are growing, and we need people here to fill a ton of positions. If you come to North Dakota, not only will you find a job, but you will also get paid well. That's 100% true, just speaking from my experience.

While we didn't get an in-depth shout-out on this podcast, it's still nice to know that people from other parts of the world are starting to notice why North Dakota is loved and home to so many of us.
