A new report from the North Dakota Census Office says North Dakota has the highest percentage of Millennials than any other state in the U.S.

The North Dakota Census Office reports that the numbers of Millennials in Bismarck are on the rise, along with Fargo and Grand Forks.

The key in these cities has been a strong economy and a low unemployment rate, which is currently at 2.7 percent. The population of those who range in between the ages of 18 and 34 is as high as it's ever been in North Dakota.

In an interview with KFYR, Census Officer Kevin Iverson states, "Everything that goes with the younger crowd. More outdoors activities, more sports, more diversity in terms of restaurants and places to pick up beverages."

It turns out North Dakota also has two of the top five cities where Millennials are purchasing homes. Both, Williston and Dickinson, ranked third and fifth respectively. The majority of home buyers there are Millennials with roughly 55 percent of each town's population.

It seems North Dakota is getting younger each year. The rise in the Millennial population has the average age in our state constantly dropping.
