It's just about time to go back to school, and while that's exciting, it can also be stressful.

I remember getting so nervous for the first day. I worried about my hair, if I had all the school supplies I needed, and I worried most about my clothes.

Every year, the first week of school was kind of like a fashion show. All the kids would show up in their new/best clothes to make a good impression.

That said, it's gotten harder and harder for families to afford to buy new clothes for their children.

 Back-To-School Inflation

The financial burden of going back to school continues to increase. According to the National Retail Association, the average family will spend $890 on school supplies. That's a $25 increase from last year.

Wow! That's a lot of money for notebooks, rulers, calculators and pens. That's also not even to mention clothes. Kids grow and new clothes are a necessity.

Saving Money This Year

This is something you might want to get on if you plan on doing a little back-to-school clothes shopping: Target started a denim buyback program.

What's a denim buyback program? Basically, this means that customers that bring in and recycle old/used jeans will receive a 20 percent discount on new jeans from Target. You can recycle up to five pairs of jeans.

Jeans cost anywhere between $60 - $80, so you probably want to take advantage of any discount they make available.

Keep in mind this program is only running from August 4th to August 10th, so pencil it in on your calendar.

According to Forbes.com the company is doing this denim program, so kids can refresh their wardrobes, and so it can be more affordable for parents.
