While we love that the weather is changing and we're getting a little more sunshine, there are a couple of things about Spring that we don't necessarily love.

The first day of Spring will be here before we know it, so we should prepare for these things pretty quickly.

Here's a list of six different things North Dakotans dread every year.

1. Allergies

It happens every year: the weather changes, flowers and plants start to bloom, and our noses have to adjust. Without fail, this time every year is full of snot and sniffles.

2. Mowing

I know some people actually really enjoy mowing; it's their alone time, and they find it relaxing, but if you ask me, it sounds like a lot of work.

3. Wardrobe Issues

I love busting out the sundresses and shorts, but Spring is very unpredictable in North Dakota. It might be 50 degrees one day and snow the next. We can't put away our winter clothes and are always taking a chance by wearing spring and summer styles.

4. Construction

In North Dakota, the trade-off for getting nice weather is that it means we will also have to suffer through serious construction all over town. You will be delayed, and you will have a close encounter with a cone or two this Spring and Summer.

5. Bugs

While we welcome the return of Spring, the return of all the bugs is the worst. They creep into our homes, mouths, and food, bite and sting, and it's just something we all wish we didn't have to deal with.

6. Mud

We welcome rain in North Dakota. It's something our farmers need, and many of us find it relaxing. That said, rain does have a downside or two, one of which is mud.

We have mudrooms in North Dakota because when it rains and snows, sludge and mud get everywhere. As we start getting into the Spring season, we're going to see more mud finding its way into our homes. More mud = more cleaning. *Sigh*

LOOKS: Things You'd Find in Your Grandpa's Garage

Adventures were plentiful in the domain of your family's patriarch who saw no use for rules - unless he was the one making them. From rusty tools to a stack of filthy magazines, Grandpa's garage was a land of mystery and danger.
