Three local gas stations were busted for selling electronic cigarettes to minors during a compliance check by the Bismark Police Department.

Red Carpet, 919 S. Washington St., Pony Express, 1020 S. Washington St., and Cenex, 1160 W. Divide Ave. all sold a disposable Blu Magnificent Menthol e-cigarette to a group of minors put together by Bismarck Police. The "buy team" was made up of two girls and one boy, ages 15-16.

In the case of a failed compliance check, the business is fined with $70 and the incident is reported to the Bismarck City Attorney's Office. Tobacco licenses can be revoked if enough incidents are reported.

The 30 compliance checks performed on Tuesday were all accompanied by a police officer.
