Massive Machines In Mandan To Amaze Kids Of All Ages!

In 2020, the COVID pandemic reduced hundreds of thousands pounds of heavy machinery into one cute coloring book! Go ahead and click on the image if you want to see the great job they did putting the book together.

Although it was a very resourceful alternative, it's just not the same as standing on Main Street in Mandan surrounded by....

Not that, but actual life-size versions of every kid's favorite sandbox toys.

Yea, more like that! But trucks that kids can actually sit in!

Yep, that's it.

It's called "Touch A Truck" and it's an annual event put on by Mandan Progress Organization. These monstrous machine will take over Main Street in Mandan on Saturday May 15th from 11 am to 3 pm. There's a wonderful variety of specialty machines on site. Some that save lives and others that just make impossible jobs, possible. Here's a quick list of some of the trucks you'll be able to touch.

Ambulances
Tow Trucks
Dump Trucks
Garbage Trucks
Fire Engines

Those are just some of the trucks listed on the MPO website, but based on the many years I've attended the event, there are many more awesome machines to marvel at. My favorite entry over the years was the Bookmobile! it had been years since I had stepped inside one...oh, the memories!

Keep in mind if you have timid pets or kids, the event has a "quiet time" from 11 until 12:30. I imagine after being quiet all that time, those trucks will let it rip from 12:30 til 3.

It's free to attend and the kids will love it! You might even find you a food truck or two.
