A Little-Known Detail About the North Dakota Capitol Building
We drive past the Capitol building all of the time. It's pretty majestic, especially this time of year, when the windows are lit with Christmas colors. You've probably been inside the Capitol building a few times, but I bet you never noticed this strange detail.
If you're even the tiniest bit superstitious, you might find this a little unsettling.

Many places leave out the number thirteen because it's often thought of as an unlucky number. Many people think it's creepy and linked to the supernatural.
I mean, there's tons of movies that are about this: Nightmare on the 13th Floor (1990), The Thirteenth Floor (1998).
Now, I've never seen the thirteenth floor in person, but I know it's there. People go to it every day to work.
Check out this video; you can clearly see the number 13.
It does seem a little silly to change the design of a building or number your floors in a wonky way because of a superstition, but hey, it's better to be safe than sorry, right?
