Scariest & Most Dangerous Jobs In Bismarck-Mandan

Since we are getting into spooky season, and because we all work every day, I thought it might be interesting to look and see which North Dakotans have the scariest jobs of all.

1. Working for a construction crew

Look, these men and women are extremely hard workers, but the job is scary. Of course, navigating all of the crazy roads and confused drivers is life-threatening, but lately just being a person in an orange vest is terrifying.

The strip in Mandan has been obliterated, and local business owners and drivers have been getting more and more frustrated with the situation. If you work alongside the road, chances are you've been yelled at, complained about, and possibly threatened for doing your job. Scary.

2. Prison Worker

Bismarck is home to the North Dakota State Penitentiary. Those who work there deal with some pretty crazy and scary things. You're surrounded by some dangerous incarcerated individuals, who while are on a path to rehabilitation have violent, and unfortunate slip ups. Shout out to all those who work at the prison, because no doubt, that is a dangerous and taxing job.

3. Morticians

We have several funeral homes in Bismarck-Mandan. It is heartbreaking to lose a loved one, and it is not my effort to make light or joke of that. Though, you have to admit, being someone who works at those facilities, especially as the days get longer and darker, and the nights get colder. That profession could make the bravest of us uneasy.

4. Inspectors

Without a doubt, Bismarck-Mandan have some of the best restaurants in the state of North Dakota. Let's say on the very off chance you inspect a restaurant, and it is very far from meeting safety standards. You have intimate knowledge about places that have been operating outside of public safety standards. That's a tough job, and scary if you have eaten there yourself.
